April means a lot of things to a lot of people: April 1 is April Fools Day. April is National Poetry Month, Earth Day, Secretaries Day, Arbor Day, Take Your Daughter (and/or Son) to Work Day. The list goes on and on. But For the last 30 years, April has also meant Free Ice Cream! Ben & Jerry'sOn Tuesday, April 29, Ben & Jerry’s will celebrate it’s 30th Anniversary Free Cone Day. Visit a store between 12 pm and 8 pm. Many stores will have a local philanthropy accepting donations. “Ben and Jerry” started Free Cone Day as a thank you to customers. The tradition has continued, as they continue to give free ice cream all over the world. “Every year Free Cone Day is our biggest and best party,” boasted Debra Heintz, Retail Operations Director. “There’s always great fun and surprises at your neighborhood Scoop Shop with local celebrities as guest scoopers, worthwhile social mission partners, music and other entertainment happening throughout the day, so make sure you make it down to enjoy all of the Free Cone Day fun.” Last year, Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops gave away more than one million free ice cream cones. It’s the perfect opportunity to try a new flavor or enjoy an old standby. To find a participating store, go to www.benjerrys.com. Well, if a Free Cone of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream isn’t reason enough to celebrate, the next day, Baskin Robbins® has an offer of their own.
